Hello, and welcome

To my dedicated readers,
I say hello.
And to my new readers,
I say welcome.
Been a while since I dropped here,
Life has been unfair,
Can’t complain, but that’s why we call it Life.

The romance I always write about has been abolished from my heart.
The pain I write about has suppressed all feelings of hope.
The older we grow, the more difficult it becomes
But we have to move on and continue to struggle
To fight!
To move!
To wake up and keep the cycle going.

Hello You, after every hardship comes ease.

Happy Birthday, Oreoluwa!

Decades ago, a beautiful angel was sent down to Earth to mingle among humans. This angel is one of God’s special gift. An angel of immeasurable confidence, gargantuan social skills, divine intelligence, and unspeakable beauty.

When this angel came to be a human. She retained all her heavenly qualities and added more. The imperfections of the human skin made her perfect. Oh! And can she disturb.

Oh.. This piece is not only about how she’s perfect. It’s also about how much of a troublesome fellow she is. Oyinloluwa. The honeyed daughter of the Soyoye Clan.

Oreoluwa. The loving wife of the Akiode Clan. This is your day. Your moment of immense breakthrough is finally here.

I rejoice with you today, tomorrow, and forever!

Happy birthday to you my dear friend. You’re loved as much as a human can love.

No labels

This one is for you,
Ebony beauty of proportional proportions,
Your electrocuting smile of a thousand megawatts,
Your face calls to me,
Your smile pulls me to you!

I know we had an agreement,
To put no labels,
But all I want,
When your beautiful shines,
Is to pull you  close,
And never let you go.

How about you give me much more
And see me worship you like a goddess

Oreoluwa

A fair maiden of preternatural beauty,
If mermaids were real, you’d be the queen!
Fresh like the morning dew.
Mere words move mortals,
But for an out-of-the-world beauty like you,
Only carefully chosen ode can appeal.

Oyinloluwa says you are sweet,
But not that sweetness whick kills!
The one that invigorates.

Oreoluwa says you’re an answered prayer,
For anyone and all,
Whom are blessed to gaze upon your face.

Idowu says you’d go to any length for me,
You’d fight all my wars if need be.
For you are one beautiful Guardian Angel!

Talking Pictures

If pictures could speak,
This one speaks volumes;
Shouting,
Screaming,
Vocalizing your outright beauty.
Or maybe not.

On second thought,
I think the picture is whispering,
Trying to get my attention.
(and it did)
“hush hush hush” whispers the picture
“Oreoluwa is cute” it said
And I couldn’t argue with the sound logic.

Oreoluwa, oh and that’s me lurking.

A beautiful poem

For half a decade I’ve known you
And not for once do I call you beautiful,
Even though it has always been on my mind
Not until now.
Beauty is only skin deep they say:
We’ve been friends for a while, not today
And I know that your character, attitude and personality
Goes deeper than the visible surface.

Call you an angel, I won’t.
Take this as a joke, you shouldn’t.
An hasty poem this is;
But it runs deeper than the Lagos canal.
I’ve hidden behind the shroud of friendship for long.
Ayoife* and Ayoife that we knew.
All of them came and went, but here we are.

I’m no king nor prince sunshine
But would you be my queen?

* Ayoife literally means “the joy of love”, and it’s an endearment used for a lover.

Day 2

I woke up with a thought;
And a face;
And a name.

I thought about how cool you are.
Not like, not-warm-enough cool,
But the you-are-awesome cool.

First thing I saw when I woke up
Was your face.
Even though you’re not here, but really you are.

A name.
In all it’s grandeur and promise of blessings.
It could only be yours, Oh daughter of a king.

Happy birthday Sumayah.

Sumayah

To a maiden of the ninth moon,
Classy, beautiful and petite
Cannabis ain’t got nothing on you
Intoxicating to the point of enlightenment
It’s your day, dear Sumayah.

Birthdays come once in a year
But you deserve attention all year long.
An epitome of class
And a striving Muslimah
A woman of many talents.

I wish you the very best;
In this world
And the next.
I pray that Allah bless you
And your family abundantly.

I’d throw you an apple
Like they do in ancient Greece.
But we’re Muslims,
So I’d rather go see your father.

Happy birthday S,
Long life and prosperity.

Happy birthday, Maryam.

Tomori “TOMAMA” Maryam

Happy birthday to you momma. Oh, and I love the piece you wrote for me.

To him

Who is always fun to be with
Making you forget the sad times
Even when chatting,
You laugh out like you’re readings joke
It is him, Ridwan.

Giving bits of advice all the time
Trying his best to make things right
Assuring you Allah is in control
Telling you everything will be fine
It is him, Akinkunmi

Never a boring moment with him
Sharing his thought with you
Full of kindness and love
Loving you like no other does
It is the son of Ajagbe

And my prayer for him is:
Allah’s favour, rahmah and sekinah.
I hope you find that person soon
To love you and cherish you also.
