Happy Birthday, Oreoluwa!

Decades ago, a beautiful angel was sent down to Earth to mingle among humans. This angel is one of God’s special gift. An angel of immeasurable confidence, gargantuan social skills, divine intelligence, and unspeakable beauty.

When this angel came to be a human. She retained all her heavenly qualities and added more. The imperfections of the human skin made her perfect. Oh! And can she disturb.

Oh.. This piece is not only about how she’s perfect. It’s also about how much of a troublesome fellow she is. Oyinloluwa. The honeyed daughter of the Soyoye Clan.

Oreoluwa. The loving wife of the Akiode Clan. This is your day. Your moment of immense breakthrough is finally here.

I rejoice with you today, tomorrow, and forever!

Happy birthday to you my dear friend. You’re loved as much as a human can love.

A Coward In Love

I fell in love at the worst time.
I was smitten when I was still a coward.
Scared of uncertainties,
Disdainful of the future,
And scared of rejection.

I loved you like no other.
I ran away from certain responsibilities.
I needed you. Wanted you.
But I couldn’t go further.
Couldn’t go for what I knew was mine.
I loved you, like a boy loves.

Now, I’m a man.
And I feel like I’ve lost you.
I wanted to do things differently,
But the time have changed
You have changed.
The situation has changed.

There’s honey in your name,
And you are the sweetest human I know,
Your words.
Your care.
Your emotions.
You showed me love.
You displayed sweetness.
You’re the epitome of perfection.

I messed up once,
And you took me back.
I promised to do more.
To be better.
To make things nicer.

I stopped saying this.
But my face tells you,
My actions speaks volumes.
You’re awesome.
And for ever and ever.
I’ll always love you.

Still you

I don’t want to sing your praises,
Your face made me.
I don’t plan on writing this poem,
The lines came to me.
I have eradicated thoughts of love,
But your personality made me.

And even though I didn’t plan it,
This poem gets better.
You won’t want to blush too much,
Because your mum stalks.
I don’t want to stop this flow,
Unless you reassure me.

I’ll fancy you for a millennium,
And admire you for another century.
Flash me that electric smile,
Let it flow through my subconscious,
For another eternity.
The ink is still dripping,
For the hot sauce that you are!

Oreoluwa

A fair maiden of preternatural beauty,
If mermaids were real, you’d be the queen!
Fresh like the morning dew.
Mere words move mortals,
But for an out-of-the-world beauty like you,
Only carefully chosen ode can appeal.

Oyinloluwa says you are sweet,
But not that sweetness whick kills!
The one that invigorates.

Oreoluwa says you’re an answered prayer,
For anyone and all,
Whom are blessed to gaze upon your face.

Idowu says you’d go to any length for me,
You’d fight all my wars if need be.
For you are one beautiful Guardian Angel!

Paparazzo

“smile at the camera baby”
Eases out of those wonderful lips,
Gazing upon thee bring smiles,
But whenever you requested it
The influence of happiness is second to none.

“move your head to the left a little”
I’d move mountains for you,
So what’s a little tilting of the head,
Or a casual glance to the left.

I can have a thousands pictures on my phone,
But the most handsome ones,
Are the one you capture.
Papa’s personal pretty paparazzo

Akinkunmi, I love you.

We have a picture of someone in our mind,
And it sticks forever.

Remember when you pulled me in your arms,
Looked into my eyes and said
“Akinkunmi, stop disturbing me, you know that I love you”
Yeah. That one

It will stick forever!

To new beginnings (Happy birthday)

New beginnings don’t necessarily mean the eradication of the old. At least, that is what I think.

Decades ago,
On this same date; August 20.
I was born.
Or so I was told.

I started this last year,
And here we are, still not complete.
I guess like the earth I’m living on
Nothing is constant. Always moving.
Constantly changing.

It’s my birthday,
But no new year, new me crap.
At least, not this year.
There are more important things,
Like what exactly?

Happy new year and Happy birthday to me.

My Everything

When I’m happy and full of inspiration,
The thoughts of you makes me carry my pen,
And with deftness across the pages,
I scribble poems of love and hope.

When I’m angry at you,
My blood boils and I make my ink flow,
Songs of love and hope fill the pages,
And I dream of you.
I dream of you making me happy.
Again! And again!

You’re my upliftment,
My downfall.
You’re my motivation,
My frustration.

You are my everything!
And more.

Still About You

To all the ones that have left,
Thank you for the lessons,
To the ones that never made things right,
Thank you for the experience.

To all the ones that grew bored,
Thank you for your time.
And to you! This was going to be about you!
Thank you for your contentment.

And for you,
I lay down my quill, ink, and all.

Angelic Ministrations

Heavenly connections called to me,
Informed me of an angel on earth,
I received this scripture in my dreams,
And it was accompanied by your picture.
When perfection is pictured,
Your face is the focus.

The angels sang me a beautiful song,
And you were the theme of the album.
Songs of admiration and awe,
The angels sang.
They told me to hold onto you,
Please stay, Oh Queen of Beauty.
Please stay with me, oh angel of perfection.

I’m human,
And you are an angel,
Our union will breed the supernaturals,
The Eternals will be our offspring.
Raise me to celestial levels,
And I’ll show you what the human body can do.
My angelic ministrations are about you,
As everything else in this life.
