Ibadan Princess

Ibadan is certainly the land of milk and honey,
I’m still awed by how you went home a princess,
And returned a queen,
Your calm beauty is now of serene proportions,
Your ebony skin searing everlasting memories on my brain,
Printed in my soul, a your smile,
Just ticked a corner of your mouth and here I am;
In dreamland.

I could barely take my eyes off you,
Nor could take my mind off your scent,
Lingering in the air even moments after your departure,
Followed your every step till you’re visible no more,
It’s still early in the morning,
But you’ve certainly made my day!
