Pain

Joy suddenly turned abstract
You turned love into a contract
But I strived to fulfill my pact

The pact to make you better
To steer you away from pain
Now it’s all bitter
All feelings down the drain

Full of pain
And no iota of gain
I’m back and better
Learnt from my past mistakes

But if loving is a mistake
I’ll gladly do it again
Give or take
I’ll come back stronger again.
